L’oceano di Internet pullula di “sirene”! In questa lezione troverai alcune delle frasi più comunemente usate per ingannare i navigatori imprudenti.

Beware of phishers! They are people who want to obtain private information from you.

Here are some of the sentences you may find in emails sent by such fraudsters.

First, the phisher gives some plausible excuse to persuade you to reveal private information:

  • We are undertaking a review of our member accounts.
  • We would like to ensure that your account was not accessed by an unauthorized third party.
  • Unfortunately, trouble with our computer system caused us to lose some member data.
  • Recently, we identified some unusual activity in your account.

The phisher then asks you to click on a link and give private information (passwords, credit card number, bank account number, etc):

  • You are requested to visit our site by following the link below and fill in the required information:
    www.website.com/fillinform/89b76
  • Please update your record:
    www.website.com/update/52a17

The phisher may also put you under pressure to convince you to provide your data immediately:

  • Failure to restore your records will result in account suspension.
  • Your account access will remain limited until this problem has been resolved.
