In questa lezione imparerai la formazione del COMPARATIVO.
Osserva queste parole come osserveresti un’immagine: qual è la differenza tra loro?
La risposta apparentemente più ovvia spesso è quella giusta!
1. CHEAP
2. EXPENSIVE
Soluzione:
Cheap è una parola corta
Expensive è una parola lunga
Adesso osserva l’uso del comparativo di maggioranza in queste frasi:
1. My car is cheap, but yours is cheaper.
2. A Rolls Royce is more expensive than a Toyota.
Possiamo così dedurre la regola sull’uso del comparativo in inglese:
• Si aggiunge –er alle parole CORTE (cheap -> cheaper)
• Si mette more prima delle parole LUNGHE (expensive -> more expensive)
Ricorda che:
• per mettere a confronto due cose, devi usare THAN (Tom drives faster than his brother)
• nel comparativo di minoranza, aggettivi e avverbi restano invariati (Peter is less intelligent than James).

Question: Is it possible to say "more cheaper"?
No, it's not possible; more cheaper is a bad error
if you want to say "la più economica" (as cheap means "economico, che costa poco"), you can say "cheapest".. not "more cheaper"!! horrible mistake!
