If you are a TV-addict, it means you can't stop watching TV. A TV-addict can also be described as a couch potato, because he or she spends a lot of time lying on a couch (OR a sofa) watching TV.

TV-addicts can’t do without two things: a TV guide (a magazine containing a list of all TV programmes) and a remote control, an object that you use to change TV channels by pressing a button: it is also called a zapper, because you use it to zap (change) channels.
TV addicts can’t leave their TV-set, so they have TV-dinners, which are frozen prepared meals that you just have to heat in a microwave.

  Perché non è usata la negazione nella frase "If you are a TV-addict, it means you can stop watching TV." ?

  Jupeppe credo che ci sia un errore, chiaramente, di distrazione o di trascrizione.

  Infatti dovrebbe essere "If you are a TV-addict, it means you can't stop watching TV."
  Molto più logico.
